PICTURE SLAM
NEW SATURDAY, 5.50PM,
BBC1 ENTERTAINMENT

Alan Carr is delighted to be fulfilling a long-held ambition this week as he fronts his first prime- time quiz show for the BBC. ‘It’s a real honour to be given a Saturday-evening show on the BBC. Let’s face it, it’s every presenter’s dream,’ smiles the comedian and TV favourite, 47, of taking the helm of eight-parter Alan Carr’s Picture Slam.

‘There was so much laughter and joy when we filmed it, and I think that sense of silliness is going to come through the TV screen.’

Here, Alan tells us more about the series, which promises to mix fun with facts…

First up – can you describe Picture Slam in three words?

Exciting, fun, nostalgic! I think families are going to love it. It’s perfect Saturday viewing that’s going to set you up for the evening.

What’s the premise of the show?

It’s the quiz where every question is a picture and all you have to do is name who or what it’s of. It’s simple to play, yet it can get frustrating when your knowledge is put to the test. From faces, places and brands you see every day to nostalgia you fondly remember, or food you would never eat and garden tools you’ve seen but never used, you need to know something about everything.
