When period crime drama Grantchester returns to ITV1 for a ninth outing this week, it heralds the end of an era as, this series, actor Tom Brittney hangs up his cassock after nearly six years portraying sleuthing vicar Will Davenport.
‘The laughter Tom and I shared on set was just extraordinary, so saying goodbye was always going to be hard,’ shares original cast member Robson Green – who plays Will’s crime-fighting partner DI Geordie Keating – as he joins TV Times for a chat. ‘But I love him, he loves me, and we’ll remain the best of mates!’
