Beanie Babies were among the must-have toys of the 1990s – and not just for kids! Many adults also became obsessed with the cute animal plushies famed for their red heart-shaped tags, collecting limited-edition varieties as investments to resell for profit.

The Beanie Bubble, Apple TV+’s new one-off comedy drama, tells of how toy inventor Ty Warner’s creations became a global hit.

But Ty (portrayed by The Hangover actor Zach Galifianakis) didn’t achieve this alone, as we see through the eyes of three fictional characters inspired by real people: business executive Robbie (Pitch Perfect’s Elizabeth Banks) and marketing pioneer Maya (Australian rising star Geraldine Viswanathan) as well as Ty’s partner, Sheila (Succession’s Sarah Snook).

TV Times caught up with Zach, 53, and Elizabeth, 49, to invite them to spill the beans…
