Strictly 2022 REVEALED!

Strictly Come Dancing's famous ballroom is about to reopen its doors and our weekends will once again be full of glitz, glamour and (hopefully) fancy footwork! S The 2022 batch of celebrities will soon be meeting their professional dance partners for the first time ahead of showing us whether they are fab-u-lous or disastrous on the dance floor.

This year also marks the 20th series of the show and we're sure the Strictly team have some big surprises up their sleeves to mark the anniversary.

Here, we reveal all we know so far about Strictly Come Dancing 2022...

THE SHOW

The BBC has confirmed that this year’s launch show, where the celebrities find out which professional dancer they have been paired with, will be recorded on Wednesday 7 September. The broadcast date hasn’t yet been confirmed, but it’s likely to air on BBC1 the following weekend.

Details of Strictly’s much-loved theme weeks are yet to be confirmed for this year, but rumour has it that the competition will be returning to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool this year for the first time since 2019.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be Strictly without Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman at the helm – in fact, the two have vowed that if one of them ever leaves the show, the other will follow suit.

‘Tess and I will leave at the same time – we’ve made that pact over pizza,’ says Claudia. ‘We’ll go together, whenever that is.’

THE JUDGES

Casting a critical eye over the celebrities’ performances once again will be the judges, led, of course, by Shirley Ballas.
