THE BAY
WEDNESDAY, 9PM, ITV1 DRAMA (BOX SET, ITVX)
Detective Sergeant Jenn Townsend was thrown in at the deep end when she arrived in Morecambe at the start of The Bay’s third season, after the body of an aspiring boxer was found in the sea.
Now settled into her role as the local Family Liaison Officer, Jenn (played by Marsha Thomason) is called to the scene of a terrifying house fire, as the popular ITV1 crime drama returns for a new run this week.
The inferno claims the life of care worker Beth Metcalf, leaving her husband, Dean (Gentleman Jack star Joe Armstrong), and their four children traumatised. But as Jenn offers her support, she quickly realises she’s dealing with a seriously troubled family.
Meanwhile, Jenn’s colleague DI Tony Manning (original cast member Daniel Ryan) seems strangely distracted from his duties as he sets about investigating possible foul play.
To get the full low-down, we caught up with Marsha and Daniel for a pre-series briefing…
Where did we leave your characters, Tony and Jenn, at the end of last season?
