Q Why were you keen to research your ancestry?

A John Some of my family came over from Ireland to Liverpool, so I wanted to get to the bottom of this chink of Irishness in me. Hugh My brother, Nigel, passed away in 2017 and he really enjoyed looking at our family tree, so this was a chance to pick up where he left off.

Q Hugh, you learn that your ancestors were shipbuilders, and, John, you discover your three-times great-grandfather worked in a salt mine where you grew up. How did you feel discovering that?
