The secret to Julia Roberts and George Clooney’s 21 years of amazing on-screen chemistry is simple: they really dig each other in real life

BEST FRIENDS FOREVER

IT’S been 21 years since they first met and, by George, has this been a successful relationship!

There’s the six films that have brought in more than $1 billion at the box office, an enduring friendship

filled with lots of laughter, parenting pow-wows about their sets of twins and an endless amount of adoration.

And if their latest movie is anything to go by, Julia Roberts and George Clooney are working hard at cementing their bestie status.

“To run around Australia with George playing these very funny scenes – I’m living my acting dreams,” Julia (54) says.

In Ticket to Paradise, which hits South African cinemas later this year, they pair up again to play a divorced couple who travel to Bali to stop their daughter from marrying after a whirlwind romance.

It’s a romcom reminiscent of Julia’s earliest hits – and George (61) is thrilled to have done it.

He described the movie, which was filmed in Australia, as “something special” and “sort of an old-fashioned film”.

“The minute I read it, I called Julia,” he says.

“And I said, ‘Did you get this?’ and she said, ‘Yeah,’ and I said, ‘Are you going to do it?’ and she goes, ‘Are you going to do it?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, if you do it.’ So it was just one of those very lucky things.”
