A WARM EMBRACE

Every December, the design world waits with bated breath as Pantone unveils its Colour of the Year a hue meant to capture the spirit of the times. For 2025, Pantone chose PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, a warm brown that balances the earthiness of nature with an understated sophistication. But this year, the announcement carries an added layer of significance - for the first time, an Indian brand, Janavi, has collaborated with Pantone to bring this shade to life.

A GLOBAL MIRROR

The process of selecting the Colour of the Year is meticulous, almost anthropological. Teams at the Pantone Colour Institute spend months analysing global trends, from art and fashion to politics and technology. "It's not just about what's popular," explains Elley Cheng, General Manager of Pantone. "We look for a colour that reflects the collective psyche - our anxieties, aspirations, and the way we see the world."
