A renowned social worker of India, 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, Self Defence Expert, Pranic Healer, Fine Arts, Yoga and Kathak Teacher, Feng Shui Guide, Arhatic Yogi, National Taekwondo Referee- that's her! Meet Amita Marwah- president of AMAT Society (Amita Marwah Activity Team), who has won international laurels in Taekwondo. Here is a conversation with her.....
Multi-talented and daring woman since she was a kid, a topper in studies and excelled in sports, dance, cultural programs and art competitions. Born on 25th December 1977 in Jamnagar, Gujrat and currently residing in Panchkula, Haryana, Amita is packed with energy and enthusiasm! She has been a lucid dreamer since her starting years.
"I belong to a Military background. My father was in the Indian Navy, and my uncle (my father's older brother) was in the Indian Army. I have taken my father as my inspiration since the beginning. He was a part of both Indo Pakistan War of 1965 and 1971. I have heard so many stories from him. My family has always supported me, my in-laws, my parents, my children and especially, My Husband, Mr P. Chand Marwah," she shares. Amita's mother owned a Salon during the Khalistaani movement in Amritsar. Threats were given to her to shut down her salon, but she was courageous enough to always stand up for her work and herself!
