As you probably realised, Longines celebrated its 190th anniversary in 2022. The brand has much to show for it, beginning with a rich archive of watches that offers much breadth and depth in terms of both design and technical content. The latest addition to this storied legacy is the Record Heritage chronograph, which marks the first chronograph in a collection that has, until now, been confined to just time-and-date watches.
The Record line consists of elegant, classically-styled timepieces, and the Record Heritage maintains this established aesthetic, albeit with tweaks that further emphasise its vintage vibe. Note, for instance, the design of the hour markers, with dagger indices used for the odd hours and Arabic numerals for the even hours. It is a familiar design language within the collection, down to the typeface used.
