DA40 engines are the 168 hp turbocharged AE300 jet fuel engine (DA40 NG version) or a Lycoming 10360M1A AVGAS engine (DA40 XLT version). The Lycoming 10360 delivers smooth and refined performance, has amassed millions of flight hours in high utilisation operations worldwide, is familiar to A&P's everywhere and consistently reaches TBO and beyond. The three blade MT hydraulic constant speed propeller features advanced blade geometry for efficient performance, low vibration and noise. It is automatically controlled by the engine's digital engine control through a conventional hydraulic governor.

Maputo airshow 2024 What a treat!

On Sunday 16 June Christine and I returned from attending the Maputo airshow and what a fantastic experience this was not only for estimated 15 000 spectators, but also the members of the media present. As always Brian Emmenis and his team were on top form with a great selection of music. The grand finale with the Puma Energy Flying Lions T6 Harvards was simply beautiful and I saw several spectators with tears in their eyes as they expressed their happiness for the airshow.
