BLOOD ORANGE SYRUP
Pulse 1/4 cup sugar and 1 Tbsp. blood orange zest in a food processor until sugar is moistened and zest is finely chopped.
Heat sugar mixture and 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 cup blood orange juice (from 2 small oranges) and 1 Tbsp. lemon juice. Transfer to a canning jar. Chill, covered, 1 hour (or up to 1 month). Makes 1 cup.
