It is said that God works his way through doctors. Imagine a world without these healers- a world filled with suffering and pain, a world without hope of life. Doctors are the people we run to for every illness and diseases. And their path is not easy. Every doctor has worked his way through hard work, struggles, failure, loss, and hundreds of personal sacrifices in order to perfect his skills so that he can cure his patient and give him a better life. On the occasion of Doctor’s Day, we bring to you the story of one such Doctor who has restored vision to thousands in order to help them see the world better through healthy eyes- Dr. Amar Agarwal, the chairman of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital groups.
Dr.Amar Agarwal M.S., FRCS, F.R.C.Ophth is an Indian Opthalmologist and Chairman and Managing Director of Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital and Eye Research Centre in India, which includes 67 eye hospitals. He is the recipient of the Best Doctor award of the State government from then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa in August 15, 2014. Amar Agarwal was born in Chennai on 20 July 1960 to Padma Bhusan Dr.Jaiveer Agarwal and Dr.Tahira Agarwal. He completed M.B.B.S. degree in February 1983 from Madras Medical College, Madras University. His further qualifications include M.S.(Ophtha) in July 1986 from Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, University of Gujarat, FRCS in October 1986 from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom and F.R.C.Ophth in October 1988 from Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London, United Kingdom. The hospital was started 60 years ago by his parents.
