Getting Into a Peaceful State of Mind

In life, we have good and bad experiences. Often, when we experience something good, we decide to continue with that experience and have more of it. But at some point, we stop our efforts. Life is such that we tend to get involved in various different situations. The Yóga Shastra says that yoga is not something that is to be done separately, like doing Asanas. Yoga is something that should be ingrained in every cell of our body. It should be ever-present, everywhere with us, in our blood, in every breath we take. Yoga means maintaining awareness and to take care of all that is good.

Our brain is so structured that we forget many things. This is good because there are many sorrows, problems and miseries in life, pain, and we don't cling on to them and keep crying. We forget them, which is a good thing. But along with that we also forget the good things. So it is necessary to keep those good things in mind, remembering them frequently and thereby increasing our experiences.
