Christina Simon, a certified kitchen and bath designer at CIS Design Studio, LLC, interviews new clients to understand how they cook and shop, what appliances they use and other essential details that will help inform the design.

"I have them take me through a typical day, from breakfast to lunch and dinner, both on weekdays and weekends," says Christina. "It's a great collaborative process with the homeowner that then translates into the relationship with the architect and builder."
