Bathrooms are the perfect place to relax, unwind and escape the world. There's nothing quite like the rejuvenating feeling of a long hot soak in the tub, especially as the darker nights start to draw in. So it's only right that you give your bathroom's décor the time and attention it deserves.

When it comes to choosing a style, traditional country and contemporary minimalism are two opposing looks that create very different feels. While we love them both individually, something special happens when we see the two mixed together. A perfect merging of contrasting styles is a great way to give classic schemes a fun and funky twist. Carrie has combined them perfectly, so we chatted to her to see how she did it...

THE MUST HAVE

'The house had been completely refurbished and it was a lovely blank canvas for us to work with. The soon-to-be bathroom was previously a bedroom; we had to work out the plumbing and layout from scratch. I really wanted the room to be a luxurious space to unwind in, so we prioritized fitting a bath in. We used part of the spacious landing to create a separate WC, leaving more room for a tub."
