IF THERE WAS A CAR made specially for royalty, the new Range Rover PHEV would be it. The idea is not too far-fetched. Range Rover has a storied history with the British monarchy. There are currently five Range Rovers kept at the Royal Mews in Buckingham Palace the stable where the state and royal cars of the United Kingdom are kept and maintained.
In fact, the love affair with the quintessential British marque started in 1948 with King George VI, when the Rover company presented him with its 100th production vehicle. The late Queen Elizabeth II was also a huge fan of the brand and known to drive a dark green Range Rover on the Windsor estate. More recently, Prince William and Kate Middleton were seen driving the flagship Range Rover, the predecessor of the car we are writing about today.
So what's all the fuss about? We took the all new Range Rover PHEV for three days and two nights to find out.
First Impressions
There is a saying that if you don't turn around, look back at your car, and smile after you park it, you bought the wrong one. Over three days, I couldn't stop myself from always turning back to admire the Range Rover's beauty.
