The widely known, much-memed love languages come from The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. While originally applied to the challenges of showing love to a romantic partner, the book contains a core idea that has since been applied more broadly: that when love is expressed in a way that makes sense to us, we understand it more easily and on a deeper level, much like a home language as opposed to one we've learnt in adult life. In the years since its initial publication, the book and some of its ideas have proved problematic for a number of reasons (listen to the episode about it on the If Books Could Kill podcast for a funny, light-hearted but insightful takedown), but its usefulness remains.
