EVS ARE BECOMING A POPULAR CHOICE AMONG CAR BUYERS AROUND THE WORLD
ELECTRIFYING EVS

The popularity of electric vehicles (EVS) is growing globally, with more and more people opting for EVs due to their eco-friendly nature. However, some people are hesitant to switch to EVs as they offer a different driving experience compared to traditional cars. Despite this, there is a growing enthusiasm for EVs, and they are expected to become more appealing to consumers in the coming years. The question remains, why are politicians, investors, and drivers all choosing EVs and why are researchers putting in so much effort to develop them?

The Paris Agreement, aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change, has been accepted globally and calls for significant changes. One of the most critical areas that needs attention is the transportation sector, which is a major contributor to carbon emissions. Currently, oil is the primary energy source for road and air transportation. The electrification of vehicles is expected to play a crucial role in reducing carbon emissions in the road transport sector. A recent study has demonstrated that the switch to EVs can significantly reduce emissions, even before the power sector becomes completely decarbonised.

Governments need to balance the implementation of climate initiatives with socio-economic development. To achieve this, the focus is on renewable energy. The cost of generating renewable electricity has decreased, making it a more viable option. The electrification of transportation presents a new market opportunity for energy companies and attracts more investment in renewable energy.
