ONE GIANT OBSTACLE PROVED TOO DIFFICULT TO OVERCOME

Olivia Vivian and Ben Polson won the hearts of Australia when they fell in love while competing on ratings juggernaut Ninja Warrior.

Sadly, the dreams they once shared of growing old together have now been dashed, as New Idea can reveal the couple have called in quits.

In an exclusive chat with us, Olivia admits her split from Ben after five years has been “heartbreaking”.

“Our relationship was loving, respectful and fun, but in that last year, we started to want different things and drifted apart,” the former Olympic gymnast, 33, tells New Idea “It wasn’t messy. Things just fizzled out romantically and we became companions rather than lovers.”

While the split was amicable – with both parties moving out of the home they rented together – it was a decision not made lightly.

“For a year we tried everything to make it work and even had counselling,” Olivia explains.

“In the end we had to accept that while we loved each other as friends, we were no longer in love.”
