MAKYBE DIVA & BOSSY reunited!

Two decades may have galloped by since Makybe Diva first won the race that stops the nation, but for her former jockey, Glen Boss, it still feels like yesterday.

"It doesn't feel like that long ago," Glen, 54, tells New Idea from his home on Queensland's Gold Coast. The jockey rode the Australian Thoroughbred mare 16 times, and recalls, "we had an amazing bond".

The 2003 Melbourne Cup was Makybe Diva's debut on the Flemington track. She started as an 8/1 second-favourite before emerging from the back of the pack to secure her incredible win.

She repeated her victory in 2004 and 2005, with Glen once again in the saddle.

To date, Makybe Diva is the only horse to win the Melbourne Cup three times, and the only mare to win it more than once.

Glen often finds himself reflecting on their historic hat-trick'. There are so many special memories from those incredible years that he cherishes dearly.
