INSIDE THE RIFT DIVIDING AUSTRALIA'S CRICKETING ROYAL FAMILIES
WARNERS & CLARKES AT WAR

David Warner and Michael Clarke’s spat is etched in the cricketing archives as one of the sport’s ugliest. And while the long-running feud between the current batting opener and his former captain Michael Clarke continues to simmer, all eyes are now turning to their wives.

With David’s wife Candice preparing to release her tell-all autobiography, Running Strong, next week, insiders wonder if she’ll take aim at Michael’s ex, Kyly.

David, 36, and Michael, 42, were once close mates, who “celebrated like brothers” after winning the 2013-14 Ashes and 2015 World Cup. But it’s understood that changed when David began seeing ironwoman champion Candice, who challenged 41-year-old Kyly’s place in the WAG pecking order.

“In those years, Kyly was the undisputed queen of the wives and girlfriends, but that was until Candice came on the scene in 2013. It wasn’t long before they began to clash,” a well-placed source dishes to New Idea exclusively.

“Here was Candice, a fresh-faced athlete up against a former Miss Indy who used to famously turn up in the players’ box decked out in designer bags and Jimmy Choo heels – they simply had nothing in common.”
