Word-search - MURDER MYSTERY

The recent discovery of a word-search puzzle composed by convicted killer Dennis Rader has given detectives a strange new clue – the name of a girl who disappeared nearly 50 years ago.

In April, police from the Osage County Sheriff ’s Office in Oklahoma were anonymously sent the puzzle with several words highlighted including ‘Cindy’, ‘Kinney’, ‘Pawhuska’ and ‘Laundry Mat’.

Strangely enough, a 16-year-old girl disappeared from a laundromat in Pawhuska, Oklahoma in June 1976. Her name was Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Kinney.

A note attached to the package said, “Don’t view it as a puzzle. View [it] as a map that Rader created to plot his victims.”

Rader, who was known as ‘BTK’ (Bind, Torture, Kill) murdered at least 10 people between 1974 and 1991. He was arrested in 2005. Now 79 years old, he is serving consecutive life sentences in a Kansas jail.
