Gucci's new creative director Sabato De Sarno reinforces the house's new signature red hue, Rosso Ancora, by extending it to the world of furniture. Design Ancora highlights five iconic works of Italian masters - Nanda Vigo, Nicolò Castellini Baldissera, Piero Portaluppi, Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni, Mario Bellini as well as Tobia Scarpa - with a special edition each that is dressed in Rosso Ancora. Showcased in an immersive exhibition at Gucci's flagship store at via Monte Napoleone, the chosen pieces illustrate the profound relationship between designers and brands, craftsmanship and industrial production.
THE ONE THAT WHISKS YOU OFF TO DREAMLAND
Louis Vuitton's iconic Bed-Trunk, the founder's 1865 brainchild, has a 2024 update. A sophisticated structure of aluminium and beechwood makes the trunk's quick transformation into a stable bedframe goof-proof. To provide absolute comfort to the user, the mattress is split into four sections, each covered with a memory-foam mattress topper. The head of the bed with an accompanying pillow - can be raised to your preferred angle. Covered in water-proofed cotton bearing LV's classic Monogram, the mattress panels are laid on woven cotton straps, the same as those of the trunks that have kept belongings safe since the early days. What's more, a small beechwood side table can be attached to the side for storage space.
