2002: TWO TO TANGO
FANTY SOENARDY
"There are no words to describe the bliss when my baby first opened his eyes and looked up at me. I can still remember the euphoria of holding Dillon, my second child, in my arms for the first time in 2002. 'You are my dear son', I thought. An indescribable sense of joy emerged from within me. Dillon has always been such a lovely boy since young. Now that he is serving his National Service with the Air Force, we always make it a point for our mother-and-son bonding time over food, exploring new restaurants and trying different cuisines and cooking styles. With me, he shares his ideas and philosophies of life as I help him discover his strengths and cultivate his thought process. Our relationship has evolved; I've become a confidante and, of course, best friend - guiding and encouraging him towards his goals and dreams."
2008: LEARNING INDEPENDENCE
MARILYN LUM
"Moving out on my own in 2008 was a significant milestone for me. I wanted a space to better understand myself as an adult and grow as a person. Cornwall Gardens was a choice location, as it was five mins from my parents', who were staying at Belmont Road at the time. The change helped me focus on my career development while I was working at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.
The job was demanding and came with long hours, so the benefit of having uninterrupted rest and a sense of peace after work was very crucial in setting me up for success."
