CARTIER
This year, Cartier Privé welcomes the Tank Normale, which was created in 1917 by Louis Cartier and sold two years later. The maison ups the ante by adding one of its signature complications, a skeleton movement, to the Tank Normale skeleton watch here. It features a 24-hour complication marked by a sun and crescent moon, which are also skeletonised. While the minute hand revolves around the dial in one hour, the hour hand goes round in 24 hours instead of 12 hours. As a result, daytime hours appear on the upper half of the dial, while night-time hours appear on the lower half. Cartier watchmakers have coated the skeletonised bridges with a gradation of shades adorning the two halves of the dial to denote the transition from day to night. A limited edition of just 50 numbered pieces, the Tank Normale skeleton watch is available in yellow gold on a brown and green alligator strap with a blue sapphire cabochon on the crown and in platinum on a burgundy and grey alligator strap with a ruby cabochon on the crown. Topping off the ensemble is a model with a case set with brilliant-cut diamonds, in a limited edition of 20 numbered pieces, featuring alligator straps in two shades of blue with a brilliant-cut diamond on the winding crown.
CHANEL
Launched at Watches and Wonders 2023 in Geneva, the Chanel Interstellar Captsule Collection draws from the world of science fiction, space and time travel. Dressed perfectly to theme here is the whimsical Première Robot watch powered by a quartz movement. Set in a chic combination of yellow gold, blackened titanium and black ceramic, the fun limited edition features a playful little robot flaunting four diamonds and a black lacquered dial - framing the bezel. Adding a modern glam twist is a black rubber strap with a velvet touch.
