THE BEST MUSICAL MOMENTS IN TV
FHM Canada|September 2022
Recently we saw a song that was 35 years old climb to the number one spot on the charts, all thanks to an incredibly powerful scene in a popular TV show.
THE BEST MUSICAL MOMENTS IN TV

That song of course was Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill, which was featured in season 4 of Stranger Things. This once again proves the power music and TV share and when combined wonderful things happen. But of course, this is not the only great moment seen in television when combining a popular song to elevate a scene. Here are some of our favorite moments ever, where TV and music combined to create an unforgettable moment.

Six Feet Under - “Breathe Me” by Sia

Six Feet Under was an incredible show that focused on the beauty in death by showing us the wonderful lives of its characters in its final moments. Much of Six Feet Under centered on finding the humor in death, and this was a series that didn’t even spare some of its main characters. Yet the most powerful scene was left for the very end of the show as when Sia’s “Breathe Me” kicks in to reveal six minutes of incredible character development and wonderful hints as to what happens to the Fischer family hidden throughout, as we see marriages, get-togethers and of course, deaths. Having spent much time with this family, they felt as close as your actual family. And seeing over 90 years of their lives compressed into 6 minutes while accompanied by Sia’s wonderful voice is one of the greatest endings to a series ever.

The Wonder Years - “With a Little Help From My Friends” by Joe Cocker
