We get acquainted with KEILA KIM as she makes her MAXIM debut…

Hi Keila, congrats on your first MAXIM cover! Tell us a bit about your shoot.

We shot in Long Beach California, the photographer was a surfer and knew all of the coolest local spots.

Give us a little more background about yourself and your life story so far.

I grew up on a small horse farm in Nelson county, Virginia. Both of my parents were horse trainers, so I spent a lot of time riding and being outdoors on the farm. While I was in school I worked at a bed and breakfast and in doing so, I developed a love and appreciation for hospitality. Hospitality taught me that having a "what can I do for you” attitude, as opposed to a "what can you do for me” can get you far in life. After learning the ropes of how to operate a bed and breakfast, I became a private flight attendant, where I got to listen and learn by osmosis from some of the most affluent people in the world— my passengers. You could say I've Forest Gumped my way through life thus far by just showing up with a willingness to do a good job at whatever opportunity is presented to me. When I'm not working I like to stay in and play video games, or go outside and do anything that's physically challenging, hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding… anything but team sports. I was never a team player.
