Chaos has reigned at Twitter in the weeks since Elon Musk took ownership of the social media company.
The mercurial billionaire, who previously tried to renege on the USS$44 billion deal he had to take out a massive loan to complete, has sacked Twitter’s entire board of directors and launched a cull of up to half of its 7500 employees.
Twitter, says Musk, is losing USS4 million a day. That’s clearly unsustainable. He had to do something to stem the losses, including a plan to make verified users who have the little tick logo next to their name pay USS8 13.10) a month for the privilege. His disruptive and erratic management style will either rescue the company or drive it into the ground. Unfortunately, I’m picking the latter.
