Magpies pocket £4m as Kilman joins Hammers

MAXI-MILLIONS!

MAIDENHEAD United have the chance to become one of Non-League’s big-hitters – after landing a £4m jackpot from the sale of Wolves captain Maximilian Kilman to West Ham!

The National League side sold the defender to Wolves in 2018 for £40,000, but shrewdly put a sell-on clause in the deal. It was widely reported to have initially been 20 per cent, but was renegotiated to half that when it became clear that the Hammers were eager to wrap up a deal with their Premier League rivals.

The Magpies, who recently gained approval for more than 500 new seats at their York Road home, will bag around £4m after the 27-yearold completed his £40m move to West Ham yesterday morning.

It gives them the financial muscle to compete with their National League rivals and become a real force in NonLeague’s top flight under manager – and Hammers legend – Alan Devonshire.
