Campbell, who joined from National League rivals Rochdale earlier this month, netted the opener on 20 minutes before providing an assist for Callum Maycock midway through the second half.

And while Callum Cooke scored late for Pools to set up a nervy finish, Moors boss Andy Whing was satisfied with the performance.

"I thought the lads were excellent; grit, determination, and we had to dig in at the end," Whing said.

"We had lots of opportunities to kill the game off as well.

"But they are a decent side, top of the form table, and we knew it would be a tough test today.
