World champions South Africa flexed their muscles and put Australia to the sword with a dominant six-try display in the first match of a truncated Rugby Championship.
Australia suffered their eighth defeat at Loftus Versfield, while former England boss Jones endured another miserable visit, having been hammered 92-3 in 2007 by the Bulls whilst he was Queensland Reds head coach.
With the four nations playing only three rounds of games in this year’s tournament, South Africa took a big step towards repeating what they achieved four years ago, when they secured the Rugby Championship just over a month before their World Cup win. South Africa are a scary prospect for next week’s opponents New Zealand with 12 players, including Malcolm Marx, Eben Etzebeth and Faf de Klerk, linking up with their squad next week.
