In what appears as a kneejerk reaction to the violence in Rakhial and subsequent intimidation of police personnel, the estate department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on Saturday razed three houses belonging to the accused, located in Garib Nagar in Rakhial.
However, the authorities claim that the structures were demolished as they were illegal and constructed on government land.
The video of the incident had gone viral two days back. A day later, four of the accused were arrested, paraded and made to apologise for their act in public.
