The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a nationwide membership drive, including in Gujarat, with the aim of enrolling two crore members. However, the campaign has been mired in controversies and has met with a lukewarm response. In Gujarat, 72 lakh members have been added during the fi rst phase, which began on September 2 and will conclude on September 25. The second phase is set to commence on October 1, focusing on converting primary members into active ones.
