A week-long investigation by the City Crime Branch in a fatal road accident not only led the cops to the accused but also blew the lid off a gang involved in stealing silencers from Eco MUVs.
The gang stole the silencers for its valuable catalytic converter dust that fetches a premium in the market. The accused was handed over to the Vejalpur Police, where the accident offence was originally registered.
