Rs 2,273-cr cricket betting racket
The State Monitoring Cell (SMC) of the Gujarat Police on Sunday arrested Deepak Thakkar (in pic above), an accused in the Rs2,273 crore Dabba trading and cricket betting scam. DSP KT Kamaria had on August 28 rushed to Abu Dhabi to get Thakkar's custody. He was brought to India and officially arrested on Sunday. Thakkar's arrest came after the Global Operations Centre of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) coordinated with the Gujarat Police and INTERPOL NCB- Abu Dhabi for Thakkar's repatriation.
