LAW & DISORDER

Over 3,000 law students across 17 government-aided colleges in Gujarat are facing an uncertain future. The colleges lack the necessary recognition from the Bar Council of India (BCI), putting their dreams of becoming advocates in jeopardy.

The colleges have petitioned the Gujarat High Court for a solution, with a hearing scheduled for June 25th.

The crux of the matter lies in obtaining BCI recognition, a prerequisite for law graduates to take the All India Bar Examination (AIBE). Passing the AIBE is essential for obtaining a licence to practice law in the country.
