The Gujarat Tourism Corporation has prepared a master plan to develop the Bet Dwarka Temple premises, beach, and surrounding areas in three phases. The state government has allocated Rs150 crore in the first phase to develop the island.
The Bet Dwarka Development Project Phase I will include development of the Dwarkadhishji Temple, street beautification, heritage street development, Shankhnarayan Temple and lake development. The development of the North Beach (the public beach), a tourist visitor centre, a Haat Bazaar, and Hillock Park with a viewing deck is also on the cards.
