World Organ Donation Day
According to SOTTO Gujarat data, organ donation in the state has skyrocketed by an impressive 275% in 2023 compared to pre-Cavid times in 2019. What's more, in the current year (2024), donations have already reached approximately 50% of the total for the year, and there are still several months left.
The data shows that there were 170 organ donations in 2019, which jumped to 469 donations in 2023. Furthermore, it has already reached 231 donations in 2024, signifying a 49% rise in organ donation over the past six years.
The total number of donors registered by SOTTO Gujarat in 2019 was 64, with a total of 170 organ donations. This number grew to 146 donors in 2023, with 469 organ donations.
