Turning blind eye to encroachments?

At several places in city, pillars of hoardings and other illegal obstructions cover footpath space

hile Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) remains active on the socalled anti-encroachment drive by clearing encroachments on the roads to make way for the commuters and pedestrians, there are also cases wherein huge hoardings and construction material are covering entire footpath and some part of the road too in some areas.

While this is the scenario in the entire city, Mirror found cases in western part of the city, in posh areas like Bodakdev, Iskcon-Ambli Road stretch and the reinforced cement concrete (RCC) road adjoining the Karnavati Club on SG Highway.
