The One Direction star plunged to his death from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires after a suspected booze and drugs binge, on Wednesday night.
Amid an outpouring of grief across the world, his family said: "Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time." Buenos Aires police said they found Liam's hotel room "in complete disarray," with packs of clonazepam, a central nervous system depressant, and "various items broken" In photos published by Argentinian media, white powder and tin foil consistent with drug use are scattered on the surfaces, while a TV screen was smashed.
Cops found a whisky bottle in the internal hotel courtyard where his body was found.
According to the authorities, he "had jumped from the balcony of his room," but they didn't say how they had come to that conclusion.
Preliminary results show Liam, 31, died from multiple injuries that led to "internal and external haemorrhaging." autopsy A frantic 911 call made by hotel staff about "an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol" was released.

The manager could be heard saying: "I'm calling from the CasaSur hotel in Palermo, we have a guest who is over the top with drugs and is breaking up the entire room. We need someone to come."
