MARESCA SEES BLUEPRINT FOR SUCCESS IN WOLVES THRASHING

All's well that Enz well

THE fallout from Noni Madueke's opinions on the tourist values of Wolverhampton made the England Under-21 winger a social media target this week.

But his three goals in Chelsea's 6-2 demolition of Gary O'Neil's Wolves helped Enzo Maresca believe that his methods and football philosophy are starting to filter through to the players he wants to rebuild Chelsea.

New head coach Maresca has been busy publicly defending his desire to show the door to Conor Gallagher, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah, among others.

Behind the scenes, though, he believes those he considers to be the future at Stamford Bridge are gelling into a unit that can spearhead a return to the glory days of Premier League and Champions League titles.

The Italian already sees two things that will start that process: intelligence with the ball and a battling spirit without it.
