Campaigners invoice Ofgem 'for doing the job of regulator' on power line expansion

Rosie Pearson, founder of the Essex Suffolk Norfolk Pylons group, made the invoice out to Ofgem's chief executive Jonathan Brearley.

The invoice says: "We are pleased to have assisted Ofgem in fulfilling its role as regulator.

Our services contribute to Ofgem's aims of ensuring optimal solutions which minimise environmental impact and protect consumers.

"We stand by to assist further should you remain unable to perform your function." National Grid wants to build a network of pylons from Norwich to Tilbury in Essex to carry green energy.
