The ex-BBC newsreader says despite her being "very aware" of how criminals exploit people to steal their money, she was saved only by the vigilance of a bank cashier.
Moira, 75, had thought she was immune to being ripped off because of her decades of experience as a journalist, but was duped nonetheless.
She has now urged Daily Express readers to take steps to protect themselves online whilst also insisting that "technology is not something to be afraid of".
Collusion
Moira said she "panicked" after a 9am phone call purporting to be from her bank claiming someone had taken money from her account "in collusion with staff at her local branch".
