RUSSIA bombarded Ukraine with drones just hours after Volodymr Zelensky had a "great" phone call with Donald Trump.

Vladimir Putin's military went on the offensive once again, repeatedly hitting Kyiv with "swarms" of the unmanned flying explosives, triggering fires in multiple buildings.

As terrified civilians took shelter in bunkers, footage showed a huge fireball rising into the night sky

One strike hit a huge warehouse in the Solomianskyi district of the capital, while a three-story medical centre was also set ablaze.

In the Obolonskyi area, the roof of a six-floor business centre caught fire as did a residential building.

A blaze broke out on the 33rd and 34th floors of a residential tower in the Pechersk district, after being hit by Russian strikes.

Residents in the city described how they saw Shahed drones being destroyed by air defences.

The southern port of Odesa was also hit in the overnight strikes, with an apartment block suffering fire and blast damage.
