Dozens gathered yesterday outside the Northern Farming Conference in Hexham, Northumberland, for a mass demo against changes announced in last week's Budget.
The farmers were protesting against Labour's proposed changes to Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief.
Environment minister Daniel Zeichner spoke at the event. He said the country's "very challenging fiscal situation" meant the new Government had to make "difficult decisions on a whole range of things".
