THE EMERGENCE of Savinho as a matchwinner is a sobering reminder to Britain's once-most expensive player of just how far he has fallen.
For the second game running, Savinho Manchester City's saviour, creating the first goal and providing two further assists in a man-of-the-match was display.
In contrast, £100million winger Jack Grealish, who used to occupy the leftwing role now assigned to Savinho, sat glumly on the bench as the Brazilian ran the show. When Grealish was summoned, with six minutes left, the game against West Ham was already won.
Grealish, undroppable when City won the Treble in 2023, did not score a goal for his club in 2024 and managed just one assist, as well as being left out of the England squad that reached the Euro 2024 final.
