The Prime Minister is hoping for a last-minute Jude Bellinghamstyle comeback amid projections of a Labour supermajority.

He will today attempt to woo 130,000 voters who could decide more than 100 marginal seats in a bid to avoid a landslide for Sir Keir Starmer's party.

Mr Sunak yesterday said: "The Three Lions showed us how important it is to fight right to the end, to work your socks off for your country up to the last minute, even when some say it's all over.

"And that's what I'm going to keep doing in this campaign.

"I'm channelling England and I will fight for every last vote. I won't stop until the polls close because our country's future is too important. It's not over until it's over."

Bellingham came to the rescue for England with a 95th-minute overhead kick equaliser against Slovakia on Sunday before Harry Kane sealed a 2-1 extra-time win.

Yesterday, the PM joked about swapping notes on handling criticism with England manager Gareth Southgate.

Mr Sunak said: "His and mine are the jobs everyone thinks they could probably do better, and has a view."

The PM will today warn that a Labour government would be "bad for our country" and an unchecked Labour government "would be a disaster from which it would take decades to recover".

He plans to make a direct appeal to voters by telling them they have the power to stop an "unaccountable Labour supermajority".

The PM will warn that a Sir Keir Starmer landslide "is not a foregone conclusion".

He is set to say: "If just 130,000 people switch their vote and lend us their support, we can deny Starmer that supermajority.
