ONE in five Tory MPs want a general election in May as some fear their electoral chances will only get worse, a poll shows.
Rishi Sunak has been accused of running scared after he doused speculation of a vote on May 2, to tie in with the local elections.
The Prime Minister told ITV West Country: "There won't be a general election that day." But his comments do not rule out an election being held later in May, or in June.
