THE family of Billie-Jo Jenkins face fresh heartache after a forensic review of the 13-year-old's unsolved murder found no new clues.

Her relatives were also told this week that detectives are not looking for any new suspects.

It is 27 years since Billie-Jo was battered to death with a metal tent peg.

Sussex police began the scientific probe in 2022, hoping the latest techniques could snare her killer. But it has concluded after finding no new lines of inquiry and the investigation, Operation Cathedral, will not be reopened.

Billie-Jo was killed in 1997 as she painted patio doors in the back garden of the house in Hastings, East Sussex, that she shared with foster dad Sion Jenkins, his wife Lois and their four daughters.
